Reading — John 14:15–20, Confession — Holy Spirit, You have come to walk alongside us and guide us in a life of faith. We confess that we have not always listened to you and have been easily distracted from following your direction. We have tried to do things in our own power and out of selfish motivations. Forgive us, renew us, so that we can reflect the love of Jesus to the world around us and experience the peace that comes from living in harmony with you. In Jesus name, Amen.

Questions:

  1. Describe a “before and after” experience in your life where something was greatly improved.
  2. What do you remember about Peter? How would you describe Peter before the Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit? How did the Holy Spirit change him?
  3. How has the Holy Spirit made a difference in your life? Not sure? Take time with a trusted friend or group to pray for the Holy Spirit to empower you.
  4. Where do you feel called to be Christ’s witness?
