Mission Project

Malaria is a disease caused by a parasite from a bite by an infected mosquito. It’s found mostly in Africa, Asia, and Central and South America, but not usually in the U.S.

Unfortunately, those who do not have access to medical care can die from malaria. But preventing being bitten by sleeping under a mosquito net can help families reduce their risk of malaria in the night.

$21 dollars buys a net for a family and our goal is to buy 25 nets so we can help 25 families by the end of our week together at VBS, which is a total of $525.

Each day when you walk into Shepherd, there will be a display that has a mosquito net. Inside the mosquito net, there is a box for you to put money in. Every time we get enough money to buy a net we will add a mosquito to the outside of the net. Can you help us buy 25 nets by the end of the week?
