Good God Good World

Service: Sunday

Icebreaker

  1. Recall a moment when you experience joy or awe from something in creation.

Discussion Questions

  1. This series is all about Scripture as one unified story. Why does having this perspective matter? How might it change the way we interact with the Bible?
  2. Read Genesis 1:26-28. What calling is humanity being given here? What could that look like for us today? What bearing does the Genesis story have on our lives today?
  3. How does our view of creation affect our faith?
  4. Pastor Jeremey mentioned the risk of dualism, or the separating of our lives between sacred and secular. Where in your life do you most experience this separation? How might you shift your perspective?
  5. Read Colossians 1:15-20. How does this verse connect back to the Genesis creation story? What is Jesus doing by “reconciling all creation to himself?”
  6. What does it mean to co-create with God? How can we bring order and beauty to the world around us?

Prayer

  1. Begin by looking inward and thank God for the beauty of creation and everything that He has provided for us. Then, look outward and ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you’re called to bring order and beauty to the world around you.
