Icebreaker: What was your favorite game to play as a kid? 

Which ditch do you tend to fall into: denying your emotions or giving them too much credit? How does this play out in your life and your faith? 

In Romans, one of the cultural forces Paul is working against is Gnosticism; the belief that the soul is more important than the body. Do you see this idea in our culture today? Why or why not? 

If God created us to be fully human, what role does our mind, body, and spirit play in our faith? 

Read Mark 12:30. How does this verse reinforce the idea that we’re called to bring our whole selves to God?

Which do you tend to rely on or ignore especially when it comes to your faith: your body, emotions and thoughts, or intellect? What might be one way you could engage an area of yourself you tend to ignore in your faith?
