From Knowledge to Wisdom

Bible Passage: 1 Corinthians 1:17–31
- Read Colossians 1:9–11. How are the words knowledge, wisdom, and understanding used in these verses? Why might they be part of Paul’s prayer for his audience and for us today? How has God grown your wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in this season of Covid-19?
- Read 1 Corinthians 1:17–31. How are worldly wisdom and the wisdom of God different? How does God make foolishness of the world’s wisdom?
- When has your faith helped you think through a situation differently than you would have from a worldly-knowledge point of view?
- Read James 3:13–18. What does applied Wisdom of God look like when lived out in our lives? When have you witnessed Wisdom of God at work in the life of a friend or member of your group? What quality (v. 17) would you like to better develop in your life?
Father, you have invited us to live out of your wisdom rather than that of the world. We confess that we have mistaken knowledge for wisdom and not processed the knowledge of the world through your wisdom. Forgive us, and renew us. Help us to see all of our gifts of knowledge and learning as opportunities for your wisdom to guide us. Amen.
