You're Invited
Christmas is a great time to invite someone to join you at Shepherd! Use these graphics on social media or in an email to invite your family, friends, or neighbors to hear the good news that God is for us and with us in Jesus.
Advent 2026
Advent, meaning “coming” or “arrival,” is a traditional church season beginning the four Sundays before Christmas where we anticipate the coming of Jesus. Instead of longing for presents under the tree or holiday traditions, as good as they may be, we direct our longing toward Christ.
Traditionally, each week of Advent is focused on one biblical theme: hope, peace, love, and joy. This year, we are narrowing our focus on peace. In a world that seems incompatible with peace, how does Jesus’ presence give us peace that goes beyond what we know? (Phil. 4:7) Each day you’ll engage in a different spiritual practice to remind you of the Advent season we’re in and the peace that is available to us all. We hope you join in.
